The Merlin Productions (UK) FM band expander unit allows vehicle radio sets, originally intended for use only within Japan, to be used in any other country in the world. SO, basically this means you can receive, in FULL STEREO, all the of the local and national radio stations - instead of just BBC Radio 2.

This particular model differs from others available as it is built with high signal gain - to optimise the 24Mhz shift - without the use of a switch. This benefits the UK stations normally above 102Mhz that appear 24Mhz lower than their broadcasted frequency.

Useage instructions:

Radio stations normally between 88-102 MHz appear 12MHz lower than normal. For example 98.1 MHz appears on the screen as 86.1 MHz. Radio stations normally above 102 MHz appear 24MHz lower than normal on the screen readout.

Notes:
STEREO settings remain unaffected.

MW, AM, LW remain unaffected.

Unit fitted without power supply allows unaffected radio reception i.e. if required the unit can be fitted as a switchable device.

Not to be connected in series with the same or similar units.
